Latest motor development: „Through-Drive Motor“

As a result of the consequent extension of its hydraulics range Linde Hydraulics successfully launched a new hydromotor.

The Linde swash-plate Series 02 with its still unique swash angle of 21 ° was the ideal basis for this innovation. The inline configuration of the highly proven Series 02 made the development of a hydromotor possible which delivers a torque at two shaft-ends. This new hydromotor is called Through-Drive Motor. Such a design cannot be realised with other bent-axis hydromotors commonly found in the market.

With a torque delivered at both ends of the Through-Drive Motor the design engineer has the possiblity to install the motor directly into the drive line. Thus the drop box which is needed for a conventional drive concept can be saved. This reduces the production cost of the total machine.

In general saving of a sub-assembly means increase of overall efficiency and thus reduced fuel consumption. Limiting the number of components in the drive line provides more tractive effort to the vehicle. In parallel the hydraulic system develops less noise and calls for a smaller envelope. Both, OEM’s and operators very much appreciate all these advantages.

In particular for the manufacturers of wheeled loaders, telescopic loaders, municipal vehicles and forestry machines the Through-Drive Motor is a very attractive drive solution. With these very compact vehicles the Through-Drive Motor offers a significant advantage with regard to space requirements.

Additional alternatives for mounting: Fixing of the Through-Drive Motor onto the differential of the rear axle and torque transfer to the front axle via propshaft. Thus a 4-WD can be obtained by one hydromotor, only.

Being equipped with a variable displacement motor the vehicle can pass the whole speed range stepless without loss of tractive effort.

This innovative Through-Drive Motor with through-shaft is the optimum drive for various applications, especially when having large displacement, high conversion ratio and swash down to zero.
